I'm just wondering if these new PayPal changes are going to effect CE Installs on those of us who use the PayPal plugin or not. I'm not fully understanding what they are doing.
They are saying that PayPal is upgrading the certificate for www.paypal.com to SHA-256. This endpoint is also used by merchants using the Instant Payment Notification (IPN) product.

This is specific to your SSL, your SSL needs to be SHA-256 otherwise paypal will not allow the connection to proceed.

You can use this site to check it: https://shaaaaaaaaaaaaa.com/

Its still very common for SSLs to use SHA-128 but its very easy to fix as you would just reissue your certificate using the same CSR and the newly generated certificate should be SHA-256 as its more the standard now.
