Viewing items in the cart

1. Is there a way a client can view items that are in the cart / abandon cart.
2. and allowing a user to add multiple items in the cart before going to check out (the ecommerce style).

It's not possible right now. But, it's a needy feature.
You can create a feature request for it.
 
If you create a View Cart link on your header menu and point it to the step=3 of the order page it will retrieve the ordered items like cart. I have mine setup like that and it is working.
