We would really love to have some sort of mailchimp integration for marketing and email for our client base

Can you be more specific on how this should work?

The idea would be that on the client page there could be a checkbox that says subscribe to newsletter ( or mail chimp ) and then be able to select a mail chimp list.
the other option would be to have an additional option in the settings where we could determine if we wanted a different email system to handle the email notifications. Then we could set the mail chimp settings in the email settings menu and then that would subscribe the client when “receive email notifications” was set to yes on the client page.
